Proudly announcing the Maui Jim Ocean Racing Series (MaJORS) traversing the islands of Kauai, O'ahu, Molokai and Maui. Over 8 weekends and 4 months, top ocean events will be taking place under the Maui Jim banner. Consisting of ocean disciplines of swimming, one-person outrigger cases surfs, stand up paddle board and prone paddle.
The event kicks off April 15th with an event coordinated and hosted by our own Maui Paddling Hui. Water enthusiasts gather together to cross Maui to Molokai - the Pailolo Channel, one of the most windiest and roughest 8.4 miles in the Hawaiian islands.
The Maui Jim South Shore Classic is a swim event hosted in May with keiki, adult and elite races for all to enjoy. Click on the link for more information on the May 6th event.
The Kauai World Challenge is next, taking place on May 13 and is labelled as the ultimate downwinder. A 30 mile relay in the most epic landscape in the world from "The Garden Isle's" Kapa'a Beach Park to Salt Pond.
On Saturday May 21, The Oahu Coastal Relay kicks off in the state capital of Honolulu. The relay consists of a 29 mile relay with varying participants from prone to 6 man canoe with lunch and awards immediately following in Kapiolani Park.
The Maui Jim Molokai Challenge
is held this year on May 28. Participants launch from Kaluakoi Beach on the west end of Molokai to conclude at Maunalua Beach Park in Hawaii Kai on Oahu. 32 miles across the Kaiwi channel is only for the fierce paddler - quite an accomplishment.
Maui's OWN Maui Jim OceanFest
is one of our islands most fun events for waterman and held on the first weekend in June in Kaanapali. It's comprised of sprint races in multi-disciplined events including swimming, boating, paddle board with options for teams and iron. Register early, as the popular event nears, the cost goes up. Maui to Molokai Challenge & Molokai Holokai
July 15-16. Relax on Molokai in some amazing downwind conditions. Primarily for SUP and prone, and with limited one-man, 2-man, and surfs divisions available. Support Molokai and their Stand Up Paddle Association.
Hawaii Paddleboarding Championship
August 19, 2017. Known as "The Duke's Paddleboard Race" this Oahu event was named after the pioneer and is the mecca for paddlers from outer islands and the mainland as well as international destinations.
These events are just the beginning of summer activities in the tropics. Participants will cross together and as one. The bonds that are made of these experiences are unforgettable - something that one carries with them for a lifetime.
