Aloha, and welcome back! Gary and the GM Maui Team love introducing you to some of the very best our island has to offer in food, in fun, and, of course, in beaches! Today Gary is checking in from Sugar Beach, one of his personal favorites here on the Valley Isle. This gorgeous beach stretches for around six miles, all the way from Kihei to the harbor in Maalaea—which is also home to some of our favorite condo developments—and back again, with the historic Kealia Coastal Pond and Boardwalk breaking things up in the middle.
Sugar Beach features a mostly flat layout and is eminently walkable, sporting a gentle, loping wave pattern on the shore. When the trade winds do kick up a bit, this is a perfect place for all those windsurfers out there—you’ll find them doing their thing the next time things get a touch windy.
As if all that wasn’t enticing enough—Sugar Beach is also the home of some of Maui’s most sought-after developments, including Kihei Beach Resort, Nani Kai Hale, and the Sugar Beach Resort, among others. With the ocean out their window—and stunning views of Lanai, Kahoolawe, and Molokini in the distance—Sugar Beach is sure to delight on your next excursion.
PS: While you’re in the area, why not swing through some of the wonderful shops and eateries conveniently located right across the road? Nothing goes better than sweets and Sugar Beach, take it from Gary!
