Aloha, and welcome back! Today we’re dining in at Cuatro in Kihei, one of our favorite spots along the shore. Cuatro has been a South Maui establishment for years, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for kama’aina and tourists alike. Founder and head chef Eric Arbogast first came to the Valley Isle in 1990 after graduating from The California Culinary Academy, and has turned their Kihei eatery into a family affair: Eric’s son Tyler runs the front-of-house operations, and Eric’s colleagues (a set of brothers hailing from Mexico) have pitched in since day one!

Blending the flavors of California, Mexico, and Hawaii, he and the Cuatro team will positively titillate your taste buds with the home-grown fare in their Asian fusion. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to try out their spicy tuna nachos, then you’re really missing out: crisp wanton chips are layered upon a lush bedding of native Kula greens and topped with local, sashimi-grade Hawaiian tuna (caught fresh, of course!). House-made guacamole and three distinct sauces are drizzled on top, layering each bite to perfection. Their New York steak appetizer has been known to satisfy many a patron as a full meal in and of itself; with a diverse and sumptuous menu of options, you won’t be disappointed.

Check them out in the Kihei Town Center and give them a call at 808-879-1110 to make a reservation.

Stay safe, take good care, and until next time: aloha!
